♥ EVENT: Mary Kay's 17th Anniversary

Hello everyone!

Mary Kay, one of the biggest cosmetics companies in the world, hosted an intimate gathering last May 12 in Davao City to celebrate its 17th anniversary in the Philippines, and at the same time, the birthday of its visionary founder and namesake, Mary Kay Ash.

The event took place at Sea Green Café and the place was accentuated with chic floral décor and clean elements, perfect for an intimate yet fun celebration. Members of the media and blog community enjoyed a sumptuous and healthy lunch as they discovered more about the Mary Kay brand. Guests also took part in an interactive skin care and make up class, where they picked up beauty tips and tricks and put together their own beauty palettes using Mary Kay products and I am one of the lucky few. Yay! :D

When Mary Kay Ash founded the brand over 5 decades ago, her cause was clear and simple: to enrich and elevate the lives of women all over the world.

The first thing you see when you enter the place is a bar. A bar where ladies love to hang out -- a makeup bar. :D

This is where you make your own palette. You can either choose from the eight shades of eye shadows or a blush and highlighter duo and put it in a small palette.

Look at these gorgeous shades of their gel semi-matte lipsticks. I love them all! I have never heard of a lipstick with a gel texture before so I am very excited to experience the difference of this lipstick from other semi-matte lipsticks.

Mary Kay is not only for women but also for men.

They also have products that caters to people with acne-prone skin.

We also had the chance to experience the skincare class.

For the skincare, we used their recent product line, the Mary Kay Botanical Effects. The good thing about these products is that it has Dragonfruit, which is said to be the ultimate super fruit, and Aloe, which is known for promoting healthy skin, in the ingredients. So, these products are safe to use for everyday. I tell you, these products are great not to mention the very cutesy and girly packaging. They are worth a try and definitely worth the money.

After the skincare, of course, makeup should follow and we used the infamous Mary Kay Timewise foundation. This foundation has two variants, normal to dry skin and combination to oily skin. I have read positive reviews about this foundation and my aunt happens to use this product so I am pretty sure that this foundation is very good.

After the foundation, we used the eye shadows, blush, lipstick, and eyebrow pencil that we got from the makeup bar. Then we used this compact mineral powder to set the makeup. I fell in love with this powder, it made me almost buy one. It has a very fine powder that's perfect for touching things up since I use loose powder for baking and setting my makeup.

During the session, they gave us tips and tricks on how to properly use the products and also helped us find the perfect shade for our skin tone.

Davao bloggers in action. :D

I love Mary Kay products as well as the people behind it. They are very friendly, approachable, and very pretty and young because they use Mary Kay products. :D

An event is not complete without a group picture. :)

Thank you so much Mary Kay for inviting us to your celebration. I really had a wonderful time and I enjoyed the session. God bless you more. ^_^

That's it for this blog post. I hope you enjoyed as much as I did. Hehehe! Thank you so much for viewing and stay tuned for more blog posts. Follow me on Instagram (@judychiot) for more updates and short reviews. God bless. :)
